Refractory lining/exotic metal reactors

Refractory lining/exotic metal reactors

Refractory lining/exotic metal reactors

(OP)
Hello,

I am seeking refractory lined, ceramic, or silicon carbide chemical reactors to carry out a high temperature reaction (700C)

I am looking for vendors/fabricators who can provide silicon carbide reactors or refractory lining on standard reactors.

Thanks for any information.

You have to disclose first what kind of reaction you mentioned, because that will determine the type of refractory you need and the type of the vessel you fit the refractory in. Then you should know, there is not such thing as standard reactor, let alone silicon carbide reactor. You (or someone specialised in this business) should write a specification to the refractory supplier and to the reactor vessel fabricator, so they could design the reactor to your application, provide process guarantees as applicable, mechanical design and fabrication guarantees, all in accordance with the local regulations and the applicable codes. Perhaps you wish now to re-phrase your question and expect appropriate advices from the forum.

There's no such thing as a "standard reactor"!

I understand it has to be a custom reactor. But can you suggest me such refractory supplier/reactor fabricators?

PS. If you type in google "refractory" and perhaps the name of your locality, lots and lots of suppliers around your place will pop-up.

The reason you are not getting anywhere here is you need to do your homework on this. Once you know what the reactor looks like, either in a sketch or ACAD file then you will be better prepared to go out and search for someone to build the vessel.  We don't know what you want because you don't even know yet.  If you get a sketch, temps, pressures and chemistry and start sending them out to vessel fabricators you will begin to get closer to finding the right people to talk to about making the vessel. Reactors take a lot of leg work to find just the right company to make it, or even just design it so it can be made.

Good Luck

RE: Refractory lining/exotic metal reactors

Is it bigger than a breadbox?

Is it stirred?  Or is it a simple tubular unit?

Does it contain a packing, catalyst or other internals?
Does it need side-shell penetrations?

Is it operating at pressure?  If so, what pressure?

Until you answer a few questions, nobody can help you.
