Ethanol LEL/HEL data
Ethanol LEL/HEL data
(OP)
I am looking for Low and High explosivity limits (% v/v) for ethanol in environments other than air.
Specifically I am looking at how increasing the CO2 concentration within a vessel could mitigate the risk of a potential explosive environment, by reducing the oxygen to below a point where it will support combustion.
I have found charts looking at the effects of inerting propane with CO2 and N2, but can't find anything relating to ethanol
Thanks

RE: Ethanol LEL/HEL data
see my today's post in thread124-208378: Confusion on LEL and UEL which is a similar topic.
Also at the site mentioned look for the paper called Improving Flare design. In there is a section explaining how to adjust atmospheres for diluents other than Nitrogen (CO2)
I think they should help.
