Inverter connections

Inverter connections

(OP)
I am working on a motor gearbox assembly that is fed by a small inverter. The inverter is single phase 240v input three phase 240v output 50hz.
The motor connected to it has been connected in star or wye format.
I find this strange because the motor has  two conection possibliteis 415 star or 240 wye.
To me this is wrong but there are 50-60 of these motors all connected in the same way all opperating hapily and have been for years. Could there be any reason for this connection or is it an oversite.
I started to look at this problem because the motors were stalling below 5hz changing the connection seems to help, but i dont want to create problems

RE: Inverter connections

Sounds like an oversight. The motor will work fine as long as the load is low. The motor will be capable of producing about 33% of rated torque connected that way.

RE: Inverter connections

Did you mean to write "415 V Delta instead of "415 V Star."

RE: Inverter connections

Quote:

415 star or 240 wye.
More likely 415 V star or 240 V delta.
