Can a smart component make perpendicular holes?
Can a smart component make perpendicular holes?
(OP)
I am not sure if I am either missing a step, or if it isn't possible. What I want to do is drag a component into an assembly and it automatically makes the required holes necessary.
I am using Hafele Minifix components for some knock-down assemblies and it requires 2 holes per component.

I am able to make a single hole (more or less) but I haven't been able to make the 2nd hole required for the cam.
Here are the files if you can give it a shot:

If automatically making 2 perpendicular holes is not possible with smart components, what other SW function could I use to do this?

I'll give it another shot.

I can't open that file, but it sounds like you were able to make it work so that is good news. I did use a face and edge, so next time I will try choosing the 2 faces instead.

Works great for me in both SW07 and SW08.
How are you creating the holes? I used regular cut-extrude.
How are you creating the LF? I just dragged and dropped the features into the Design Library Features folder.

Let me know if it works when you get back.
