Bluestone Mechanical Properties

Bluestone Mechanical Properties

(OP)
Does anyone know of a resource to get some mechanical properties of Bluestone?  What I am spefically looking for is the tensile strength (for bending).  I've done a google search but have come up empty.

RE: Bluestone Mechanical Properties

Sandstone is quite weak when wet, best not to rely on its tensile properties.

is Bluestone sandstone?

RE: Bluestone Mechanical Properties

It depends where you are from. In Melbourne it is a solid basalt, in England it is a dolerite, but in the US (where I assume you are) it is a blue tinged sandstone from NY/PA.
