Copy drawing and all associated information
Copy drawing and all associated information
(OP)
Does anyone know if you can copy all the information from one drawing to the next? I have a panel laid out with allot of information that I really don't want to recreate. I basically am taking a -23/-24 part and making a -25/-26 part from the -23/-24. On the -25/-26 I am going to hide some holes. But everything else remains the same. I don't want to recreate all that information again if there is a faster way to copy what I have from one sheet to the next.
Thanks!
Thanks!

RE: Copy drawing and all associated information
Pack and Go.
SolidWorks Explorer.
File > Open > References.
Copy and Paste, then change the config reference.
It depends whether you are creating a new part and separate drawing, or new part and new sheet on a multi-sheet drawing, or just a config of the part and a separate drawing, or just a config of the part on a multi-sheet drawing, or ...
RE: Copy drawing and all associated information
If not,I would take your -23/24 part and Save As Copy to your -25/26 part. I would then do the same with the drawings. Then open the -25/26 drawing and point the references to the new -25/26 part.
If it is, follow the above steps for the part, add a new sheet, and copy-paste the info from one sheet to the next, then update the drawing view references.
