Embedded elements in Cosmos
Embedded elements in Cosmos
(OP)
I am trying to model an assembly that has a flex element in it. This is basically a block of rubber with steel plates inserted. To make meshing and analysis run smoother can I insert the elements into the rubber without having to make the voids by calling out that these are embedded within the overall boundaries of the rubber. I tried aligning them inside the rubber but Cosmos gives penteration errors?

RE: Embedded elements in Cosmos
This is a modeling problem, but anyways, here we go.
Try to make an assembly with the steel parts inserted in the rubber. Save it as a part. Open the part file and subtract the steel parts from the rubber part with the combine fuction.
This way, your steel parts fit perfectly in your rubber part.
Hope it helps.
