What parameters do I need to consider when choosing a
counterbalance valve for a double acting hydraulic cylinder.
(Any insight will be helpful)
This is what I have:
                         System Pressure: 3000psi
                         Flow rate: 1.5 gpm
                         Cylinder Dia./Rod Dia. ratio:  1.35:1

RE: Hydraulics

You need a valve that has a maximum rated flow as near as possible to your actual flow so it will have to open fully and give stable control. Also I always recommend a valve with internal and external pilot supply if the cylinder needs full force at the end of stroke. For cylinders that only need resistance to running away loads I use an internally piloted valve.
