Scale drawings

Scale drawings

I have a drawing scanned into my computer and its saved as a jpg. On the drawing there is a dimension marked. Is it possible to somehow import and scale the jpg file so that the dimension shown on it will corrispond to the dimensions in autocad.

I think that makes sence!!

I want to save all the fidelling around scaling the drawing buy 0.00035424% in order to get it set up correctly so i can then trace over it. i can import pictures but i dont know how to scale them.

the origional is well over 100 years old so not much chance of getting hold of the origional .DWG file!!

Many thanks in advance.

Peter

RE: Scale drawings

draw line over existing image of old drawing scale

SCALE -> select image frame and line

base point -> end point of line

R (for reference) -> select the two end points of line

enter known length of scale.

hope this helps

RE: Scale drawings

If the original is 100 years old, I'd love to see the original DWG file.  That would be fun. ;o)

OOPS, my bad :0)

RE: Scale drawings

OZZY84,
I had the same problem (a scanned 1970's vintage drawing).  To use your excellent tecnique, I had to first select all (Edit > Select All), then followed your procedure.  It worked perfectly.  Thank you

RE: Scale drawings

Don't you may have to repeat the scale command a couple of times to get as close to the dimension stated on the drawing.
