Steel design

Steel design

Steel design

(OP)
Hi all,

i'd like to know if it is possible to perform the steel design procedure (aisc-asd-05) if my model has custom steel sections, drawn through the utility "section designer".
it's important to know if the slenderness ratio for webs and flanges are taken into account.
thanks

RE: Steel design

Other than digging through the documentation, the only other thing you can do is put in a member with a known answer and see what it does.

RE: Steel design

Have you tryed "nonprismamtic sections"?

RE: Steel design

If you make a section by section designer and want to design it make sure that you chose steel design in section designer and I think it will take the slender ratio into account because it was calculated by design center
