Location of Jockey Pump

(OP)
Hi All,

Could someone please advise if it is a code requirement within NFPA 20 for the Jockey Pump and it's Controller to be located in the same room as the Fire Pumps.

As you can probably guess I have space issues!

Cheers

DTR

RE: Location of Jockey Pump

does not appear there is a requirement and even appears it has to be minimum five feet from the discharrge side.

BUT, would require the room you stick it in to meet the same building construction requirements as the pump room.

RE: Location of Jockey Pump

I think there is no requirement, but the sensing lines have some requirements, and in some local authorities are  strict of the jockey pump suction connection location.
