Selecting the correct wire strippers for 2 different types of wires

Selecting the correct wire strippers for 2 different types of wires

Selecting the correct wire strippers for 2 different types of wires

(OP)
I have two different types of wires that need stripping.

One bundle has a diameter of .125" and contains 2 wires inside.

The other bundle contains 2 wires that are shrink wrapped together.

We need to cut these wires to various lengths and then be able to strip and tin them without damaging the jacket(s) on the 2 wires on the inside.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Automated or manually?  What gages?

Automated or manually depends on the price. This isn't a high production process, but of course the quicker, the better.

Wire is 22 AWG

The two wires that are shrink wrapped together are our main concern.

I'm not quite understanding what you are trying to do.  Depending on the materials of the insulation and the shrink wrap, you might be able to achieve this with a thermal stripper ($200-400).

I'm not picturing the cable that you've got either. If I understand that you're trying to remove the jacket from a cable without cutting through the insulation of the wires within, then there are tools that do this for CAT5 cable.

A small incision of a razor blade down the middle of the two wires and the outside shrink wrap will just peel away. Nothing like overthinking an easy problem. Thanks
