How to Insert a symbol in to a dimension

Hi,

Does anyone know how to insert symbols into the text before /after option when generating a dimension?

RE: How to Insert a symbol in to a dimension

Right click on dim, select Properties, go to Dim Texts Tab: can put symbols in as Prefix or Suffix.

Tried that and it will not allow you to select any symbols.

That’s the way I’m doing at the moment.

It would be nice if I could do it from the before/ after option within the dimension.

Thanks for taking a look.

RE: How to Insert a symbol in to a dimension

This is possible, but it only works with some fonts and it is kind of a pain.

First, type the symbols and text that you want into a text box.  Now copy from the text box and paste that into the before/after option on the dimension.  Some fonts will allow all the symbols to show up, some don't allow any fonts to show up and some only allow some of the fonts to show up.

I've tried to attach a picture showing 'diameter symbol 5.1 depth symbol 10.0' inserted before a linear dimension, hopefully it shows up.
