BOM Problem

BOM Problem

BOM Problem

(OP)
I have an assembly that has a label. the label has a default config, and assy config, and another config that has a derived config inside of it. In the column that gives the quantity, it says default/qty, and all i want is the qty. The actual quantity is right @ 1. i've tried the options in the help, but nothing seems to work to make the word go away. thoughts? thanks in advance!

Tony

RE: BOM Problem

Good question, Tony, I got the same problem. And when I change the heading, it always changes back to include the config name. Thoughts, anyone?

RE: BOM Problem

I change the title in the Column Properties of the inserted BoM table, and it sticks for me.  Am I missing something?

i dont see that option. I'm using 2008 sp0.0

This used to be very simple.

RE: BOM Problem

Hmmm, removing the period/dot after the QTY used to accomplish that, but no longer seems to.

You could cheat by creating a config with a space as the name which would then show as " /QTY."

cheers

I tried that, and it wont let me use just a space. it defaults back to the name that was there. And yes removing the period usedto work. in the help it explains the different options to get the config name to go away, but none of them work. this is the stuff that makes me crazy...

RE: BOM Problem

Strange. The 'space' cheat works for me!

Try showing multiple configs in one BOM, and then de-select all but the 'space' config.

Or create a config called QTY, then you will end up with "QTY/QTY."

I actually like the config to show. It confirms the correct config is being referenced, and is essential when multi-configs are shown in the BOM.

cheers

RE: BOM Problem

I think this problem qualifies as a regression, since it worked in 2007 and does not anymore.

We could reported to our VAR, but am swamped with other stuff right now.

RE: BOM Problem

Mitsu50, when I understand right your question, this could be solved by checking an option in document properties. Options>document properties>tables select 'Restrict top level only BOMs to one configuration'. I use 2007/sp5 version.
