Precast Strongback

Precast Strongback

Precast Strongback

(OP)
Its been a while, but I need to design a strongback for a couple precast walls. I am taking my moment in the strongback and dividing by the depth of the strongback, to get my shear along the wall...that make sense, or is there something I am missing?

RE: Precast Strongback

You're really missing it! If the strongback is doing all the work, you simply have a connection that is strong enough to transfer the weight of the precast to the strongback, intermitently along it's length.
