Splined shaft help
Splined shaft help
(OP)
Ok, I need to make a splined shaft and I'm not sure what the best method would be. Details as follows:
External Shaft Splines - 6 inches long in the center section of the shaft.
- Shaft will mate to another part with the matching internal spline.
- External spline has a minimum 6.8" pitch diameter.
I tried to use the "Power Transmission" section of the Toolbox to make the external splined section as a 6" long spur gear. I would have then just extruded the shaft from both ends of the spur gear. However, the only specs I have is the 6.8" pitch dia, the root circle has to be 150mm (5.91"), and that the splines need to be about 6" long. If I could just get the splined shaft made, I would use it to "remove" the internal spline from the mating part. Suggestions on the proper way to do this would be appreciated.
Thanks

RE: Splined shaft help
Big missng bit of data is the number of teeth ..........
To a lesser extent ... pressure angle and class/type of fit.
Remember...![[idea] idea](https://www.tipmaster.com/images/idea.gif)
