Hydro-test for existing tank
Hydro-test for existing tank
(OP)
Dear All,
Our client asked us installation of new roof for existing tank(40years ages)we found the some shell courses have been corroded and thk. has been decreased, our client insist for installation of 2new wind girders and performing hydrotest with T.P=1.25*DP, but I beleive hydrotest with this pressure must be done to design new tank to check design&integrity of tank, and no need too much pressure for exisiting tank. Also worry about installation 2new windgirder at corroded shell courses.please let me know your idea?
Thanks in Advance

RE: Hydro-test for existing tank
Why are windgirders being added to the tank?
Does that tank now have a roof that is to be replaced?
Does the tank operate with an internal pressure?
Is the shell plate adequate for the service conditions?
Is the tank anchored?
Age has nothing to do with it. It's all about the existing conditions.

RE: Hydro-test for existing tank
Tank did not have any windgirder, but regarding new cal. 2windgirder are required.IP=10mmbarg.Tank is floating roof type but now they are going to install new Al. domeroof.some shell courses have not enough thk. for test condition. There is no anchorage.
Kind Regards
