LARGE Bill of Material

LARGE Bill of Material

LARGE Bill of Material

(OP)
Hi All,

I'm just wondering if anyone has any tips on extracting LARGE bill of materials from Catia.  I have a large assembly (with numerous sub-assy's) with approx. 700 parts.  I'm trying to produce a B.O.M. from Catia using the Analyze B.O.M.  Even if I load the product without the actual 3D models/geometry, it still takes hours for Catia to crunch out the B.O.M.
Does anyone have a solution for a quicker way to extract a B.O.M. on such large assy's???

I'm using Catia V5R16

Thanks in advance

Regards,
Bacvar

RE: LARGE Bill of Material

I think you might need to look at your settings, I’m generating a BOM with 1183 parts in 37 sub-assy’s  and it takes under 30 seconds.

BTW I'm on V5R16.

RE: LARGE Bill of Material

Yea, I also think you need to check out your settings, BOM generation should be pretty fast.

Ok, I’ll go through my settings.  Any particular setting I should be looking for?

Thanks all

RE: LARGE Bill of Material

A shot in the dark, but when you go to Analyze>BOM>Listing Report Tab>Displayed Properties Window, do you have a lot of properties assigned to display in the BoM? Maybe that would slow it down with such a large assembly?
