Footing Base Rotation

Footing Base Rotation

Footing Base Rotation

(OP)
In order to evaluate the rotation of a footing base, it can be used the formula given by Bowles taking into account the modulus of soil, base dimesions, applied maximum moment and the Influence factor (that is different for rigid or flexible bases).
The rotation valueas that I obtain are 2 times smaller that those obtained with FEM analysis carried out modelling the soil with springs (with spring stiffness is related to the elastic modulus of soil and to the footing dimensions).
Which procedure do you think is better? Do you have any other suggestion? Thanks
