I'm asked to calculate the minimm hot oil flowrate into a kettle steam generator to maintain the boiler in temperature.
so i have to calculate the thermal dispersion to enviroment
?
someone suggests me to assume a reasonable steam flowrate lost from the atmospheric boiler and calculate the ncessary thermal power of hot oil to generate this lost steam flowrate.

can anyone suggest me which equation model should i consider ?

the amount of heat energy needed by the boiler to maintain "steam flowrate" should equate to the amount of energy transferred from the hot oil + any heat losses and considering the type of heat exchange method.  basic heat transfer/thermo analysis.

short of knowing other details about the equipment/process, a reasonable engr should be able to determine the heat requirements.
