Sorry my earlier question should have read what is the main differences between AISI 4130 & AISI 4140.
I also need to know why you would use Inconel 625 rather than 17/4ph when inlaying welds and for anti extrusion rings on Seals

The main difference is in mass percent carbon content, as indicated by the last two digits, 0.30% versus 0.40% of 41xx.

The other difference is the manganese range; Mn is lower in 4130, .40-.60 vs. .75-1.00 in 4140.
