NX5 rectangle selection

NX5 rectangle selection

NX5 rectangle selection

(OP)
Is there a way to change, on the fly, the way a rectangle selects things? ... inside, inside/crossing, outside ...

There was a way in NX3 and previous versions.

RE: NX5 rectangle selection

Preferences -> Selection?

Not sure about doing it 'on the fly', but that's where it's been since I can remember.

You could also click the small black arrow pointing down at far right end of the Selection Bar, choose Add/Remove Buttons -> Selection Bar from the pulldown and add Multiselect Gesture and Multiselect Rule icons to the Selection bar instead of using Preferences -> Selection all the time.

Hope this helps.

Some people are like slinkies....they don't really have a purpose, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

RE: NX5 rectangle selection

Actually, starting in NX 5 there is a way.  Just go to the new Selection Bar and turn on the icon for the 'Multi-Select Rule' (see referenced image below).  Once it's visible in the Selection Bar, you can change to different selection rules on-the-fly.
