What would be the best way to rotate a part about an arc center inside a catproduct? Is there a way to show centerlines on parts? Thanks

RE: Rotation of catpart inside CatProduct

The MANIPULATION tool is a good way to drag (translate or rotate) a part wihin an assembly.

The compass also provides some rotate capabilities.

RE: Rotation of catpart inside CatProduct

If you click and hold the mouse button on the middle of the compass you can then drag it to your part, The compass should snap to the axis of any circular feature. When you have the compass in position you can rotate the part in a couple of ways.
1.    Use the bottom curve on the compass and rotate it freehand.
2.    Click on the top of the compass which will bring up a window where you can move the part in 3d using any given dimension.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply Jackk. Where is the manipulator tool
located?

RE: Rotation of catpart inside CatProduct

It is in the assembly work bench and it looks like a hand holding a box if I remember right. It has been a while since I have used Catia so dont hold it against me if I am wrong. cheers

Laziness is nothing more than the habit of resting before resting before you get tired.
