edit sketch from a model - issues with SP2.0

we're running SW 2008 SP2.0 and having issues with the edit sketch feature when modifying model geometry.  On occasion it will disallow a drag and revert back to a pre-drag state with no error message - this seems to be occurring when the preview of the feature rebuild is not available (open sketch or other reason).  Also on occasion it has allowed us to select an edge of the preview (not part of the sketch) which immediately causes a crash, this is hard to replicate as it does not always allow selection of the non-existent entities.  Has anyone experienced this?

Is there a way to turn the preview off to further debug?

RE: edit sketch from a model - issues with SP2.0

You can turn off instant3d on the features toolbar. This will turn off the preview.

seems to have corrected the issue by turning this "feature" off.  thanks
