Loading data summary?

(OP)
Moment and shear force for each load and new/corroded condition shall be shown. Especially in the saddle type, no wind load is shown clearly. Why...?
I think it's so simple.

RE: Loading data summary?

What do you mean that "no wind load is shown clearly"? Have you selected a Wind Code in the Codes Menu?

For vessels with saddles, the wind calculations are shown in the Saddle Report.

RE: Loading data summary?

It is a notable lack that the Saddle report does not indicate the design conditions for the Wind Code. The Saddle report "echoes" the Seismic Code inputs (Code Edition, etc) but not those for the Wind Code.

This issue is on our program development list [item # 5098] and should be addressed this year.

I had always thought that this would be so easy to do (ahh, the luxury of my naivete in my not being a programmer) because the saddle report already has the seismic code data. But in discussion with our programmers it's apparent that it is not as simple as just printing the input data as for the seismic code; the wind code must endure some additional preliminary calculations.

COMPRESS determines the wind pressure acting at the centerline of the horizontal vessel. This pressure is then applied to the entire vessel as a constant value; there is no variation is wind pressure distribution as there is for a vertical vessel. The same calculation procedure is used as for vertical vessels to determine this pressure. We plan to generate the Wind Code report for horizontal vessels as is done for vertical vessels. This allows tracking the determination of the wind pressure acting at the vessel centerline. There is no parallel calculation needed for the seismic calculations.

Thus in future there will be the Saddle report with wind and seismic code information. The Wind Code report will be generated in a format similar to that done now for vertical vessels. The Seismic Code report will continue to direct readers to the Saddle report.

In the end, all this work is still relatively easy, all the difficult programming work has been completed and these minor changes build on what has gone before. But it seems that there are hundreds and hundreds of these minor things necessary to "tidy up" the reporting. We address some in each new build, in addition to the work of adding new features and fixing bugs.
