Suggested reading for begginer
Suggested reading for begginer
(OP)
I am a plumber, and am in my second year of my apprenticeship. I plan on going past being on the jobsite strictly and would like to deal with drawings etc. I am fairly good at reading plans and putting the picture on the paper into real pipe.
I am asking for some suggested reading so that i can teach myself some of the code and the reasoning behind it. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.
Thanks,

RE: Suggested reading for begginer
1. Fundamentals of Plumbing Engineering
2. Plumbing Systems
3. Special Plumbing Systems
4. Plumbing Components and Equipment
I joined ASPE back in mid 90's when I first started doing some plumbing design. At the monthly meetings (local chapter) they frequently had code discussions as well as other topical plumbing classes. The members/guests were plumbers, designers and engineers.
Good luck.

I realize books are expensive but there are a couple by Michael Frankel and others that may be right for you:

Also there are a few small (really pocket size) guides an manuals in print that you might find useful. These are usually given away free by manufacturer's representatives. Also look here:

Do not overlook the freebies that were written (using your tax money) for government or military groups. Lots of good information in those:
