Quantifing Environmental Energy Conditions

Quantifing Environmental Energy Conditions

Quantifing Environmental Energy Conditions

(OP)
Part 1:   Is it possible with the correct equation and correct sensors to quantify environmental energy conditions?

Part 2:   If yes what is the equation and necessary sensors?

For example our BMS has a cool proprietary enthalpy equation that is used in the building control system to determine the viability of "free cooling."

What I am looking for is:   If a known the percentage of full sun or solar radiation value, and outside wet-bulb, and outside dry-bulb, and wind speed can be utilized to from an equation to calculate the energy to heat or cool a black box with a total surface area of 5 sq.ft. and permissivity of 0.05 be developed?

Is that enough “knowns” to form an equation of first order accuracy?

Part 3:    What would be the other “knowns” required for the next two orders of accuracy?

RE: Quantifing Environmental Energy Conditions

It's possible to quantify just about anything mathematically; the question is what acuracy and confidence you want in the result.

Excuse me if I misunderstood what you were saying, but it came across that you are looking for the folks here to help you develop for free something that would then become proprietary to your company.

Given that understanding, about the most I'll say is that you might want to consult a heat transfer text..
