defining a thermal contact

(OP)

I´m learning to define a thermal contact between two surfaces in a 2D analysis. I try to simulate the conduction between two diferent materials. I don´t know what is the diference between the contact and target surfaces and how can I define this contact.

Please help me.

Thank you.

RE: defining a thermal contact

Hello,

you could read the "Chapter 3. Surface-to-Surface Contact" in the Ansys Manual. It's all there. CONTA173 Contact Elements in association with targe170 Target Elements for example can define the thermal contact.

Regards,
Alex
