Making Reference Dimensions In Drafting

(OP)
I have dimensions on my view's, but I want them to be reference dimensions with the value inside parenthesis, Is there a way to quickly change them with a properties function or something? thanks.

RE: Making Reference Dimensions In Drafting

The best way I know of, is to manually change one dimension and then use the "Copy Object Format" command (Hold CRTL button and select all the other dimensions that require the parenthesis, then select the "Copy Object Format" icon, then select the dimension you already changed.

RE: Making Reference Dimensions In Drafting

A couple of ways...

1.  RMB==>Properties==>Dimension Text tab...under Associated Texts, place the "(" in the box to the left of the text "Main Value" and the ")" in the box to the right.

2.  The other option, and the easiest, is to use the Manipulators (Small red triangles in front and behind the dimension text when it is selected.  You simply select each triangle and enter what text you would like in front and or behind.
If you don't see these triangles, then you need to turn them on in your options.
Tools=>Options=>Drafting=>Manipulators Tab....check the boxes to the right of the text labeled "Insert text before" & "Insert text after".
