NX-5 USER. NEED HELP PUTTING A PARTIAL SECTION VIEW ON A DRAWING. I WANT THE SECTION TO CUT THROUGH THE HORZ. CENTERLINE BUT NOT GO ACROSS THE ENTIRE PART. CAN ANYONE HELP?

RE: section view in nx5

What you do is create a full section through the model and select the Section Line symbol and press MB3 and select 'Edit'.  When the dialog comes up select 'Move Segment' and select the right-hand arrow and when it asks you to "Define new segment location..." just select a screen point near where you want the section to stop.  Then hit Apply and then Cancel and go to Update Views and update your drawing.  See the image below for an unedited result.  You'll have to go in an add any 'broken' boundry details manually.

Thanks JohnnRBaker,
That did exactly what I wanted. I will pass it on to coworkers. Our Engineering group has been using
NX5 for only a 3-4 weeks. We are all pretty green.
