How estimate heat tracing requirements? - Reference?

(OP)
Hi,

I would greatly appreciate if somebody can recommend a good reference (or steps) to estimate the heat tracing amount require for a specific project (not really rigorous calculation since we are in pre-FEED).

Heat tracing will be done using triethylene glycol.

Thanks for your time,

RE: How estimate heat tracing requirements? - Reference?

Most electric heat tracing vendors have give away software that will allow you to input all your parameters in order to deteremine the heat tracing that is correct for your application.  Even if your heat tracing is not electric the software can be used to do the thermal calculations.
