abaqus parallel processing

abaqus parallel processing

(OP)
Hi
I am doing thermal analysis and my simulation is taking longer to complete. I want to ask if any one of you came across using parallel processor capability in abaqus. I am using abaqus cae 6.7-1 and in job module where parallelization exists says something about using abaqus explicit. Does this prallelization capability can be used in abaqus/cae 6.7-1?
any answers to this will be highly appreciated.

Regards

RE: abaqus parallel processing

CAE is the front end (Graphical User Interface, GUI).  Explicit and Standard are the solvers.  If you are not sure which solver you are using it is almost definitely Standard.  Check the "Use Multiple Processors" box and input the number of processors you want to use.  They do take up additional licenses though.

I hope this helps.

RE: abaqus parallel processing

add cpus=2 in .env file. then it will use 2 cpu to run the job. but it will requires an extra token per additional cpu.
