Pb Solder in Auto Body Repairs

(OP)
Pb solders have been traditionally used as filler metal in restoration of auto body and repairing of car dents. Lately, ceramic putties are available for the same jobs and many auto body repair shops have shifted to using ceramic putties because the putties offers time saving and are cheaper than Pb solders. However, the putties are seldom a match for Pb solders when it comes to restoration of a priced cars.

Our question is: Are Pb solders suffer from galvanic corrosion when applied or are they really better than ceramic putties? Are Pb and Ceramic putties both fail in service after sometimes in service? Any input will be highly appreciated.

Metcorr
