Looking for a little advise

Looking for a little advise

Looking for a little advise

(OP)
Hey Guys and Gals,

I am looking at getting back into UG/NX after spending sometime away from the system.  I actually started working on UG back in the days of UG I(1984).  I have been away from the software for 6 years to get a useless education.  Is it possible to purchase a newer version of UG/NX for my VISTA machine.  I would greatly appreciate any help you could suggest.  THANKS, Channon

RE: Looking for a little advise

If you want to purchase the latest version of NX then you'll pretty much have to buy it from PLMS. Licenses are not transferable and can't be re-sold privately. Strictly speaking occasionally companies will change hands and the Licenses can be included in that transaction. I couldn't advise you how to get a copy otherwise.

For retraining PLMS will have training courses at a cost and I think they would be able to provide licenses as part of that service. If you buy a license you can opt to use the CAST training, which is an add on package. Otherwise you could look outside of PLMS and with the people at ww.myigetit.com

As for which version of UG is best to know opinions may vary. Some on the biggest OEM's GM included are still using NX-3, otherwise NX-5 would probably be a slight advantage over NX-4. You'll find NX-5 in some ways different to NX-3 in terms of interface, overall presentation and a few new and improved functions, apart from that if you're adaptable you should be okay.

Hope this helps
