concrete slab topping

concrete slab topping

(OP)
We are looking to overlay an existing concrete slab which varies in elevation due slopes to drains and from just plain poor workmanship originally. The deviation from a flat level surface varies from zero to 2" below the datum. Please tell us about some product you have found would work as an overlay (epoxy would be a bit pricey)

RE: concrete slab topping

Check out self-leveling topping.  There are some gypsum-based and non-gypsum based products out there, besides the epoxy.  I don't know how well they would handle day-to-day foot traffic.  You should call some manufacturers if you decide to investigate this further.  A google search on "self leveling topping" or self-leveling underlayment" will get you to the products I'm talking about.

I assume you are in the US, and if so the product JAE has suggested is the type you want.  In Australia, the favourite leveling compound is Ardit.  Just be aware, all these leveling compounds are only for internal use.
