Snow Storage Calculation

(OP)
We are preparing a site plan for a retail center in southern Michigan.  The local municipality is requiring that we define areas within the project boundary but outside the paving limits for storage of plowed snow.  Unfortunately, they have no written standards on which to base a design, and I've never encountered this particular requirement.

I was wondering if anyone has come across any standards that I might be able to use as a guide or if anyone has personal experience from which they might offer some assistance.

I've searched this site and Google and have come up with very little.

Thanks.
