antifreeze systems
antifreeze systems
(OP)
this is from chris conley on the previous thread "Depending on the number of heads I would highly recommend a glycol system. It can be added to just the area(s) of concern. We frequently specify them near large overhead doors.Nothing wrong with dry pipe, but dry pipes tend to corrode over time."
i'm somewhat new to sprinkler design, i have been designing glycol systems for houses for the last six months or so, my question is how do you execute putting the anti-freeze in just a portion of the system.

RE: antifreeze systems
Typically the glycol loop is isolated from the rest of the system with a backflow valve (appropriate to your hazard and AHJ). A fill location is provided to refill the glycol in the event of loss.
RE: antifreeze systems
i just had never heard of that before.
thankyou for passing the knowledge on.
much appreciated

RE: antifreeze systems
not sure you can do it with just a backflow valve
RE: antifreeze systems
yes you can use a backflow as long as you add a few things and meet a few things
