SA 516 GR 60N Plate spec?

SA 516 GR 60N Plate spec?

SA 516 GR 60N Plate spec?

Hello,

I have received a query from a fabricator in regard to SA 516 GR 60N. This material has been specified as the pressure vessel material and also the material for the sandwash system. The sand system is to be as vessel, would the pipe equivalent come under a different code?

Thanks

RE: SA 516 GR 60N Plate spec?

I'm not sure why you are asking the question? Is the pipe used for nozzles? If so, the engineer/owner should specify. Please expound.

The pipe will connect internally via a flange to the nozzle stub. It is a removable internal so comes under our scope, however the material has been specified by the vessel fab. I wanted to clarify if a seamless pipe made from this material should have a pipe specific code?

Thanks

RE: SA 516 GR 60N Plate spec?

There is no seamless pipe made from SA-516-60N material. There is welded pipe; however, since the pipe is internal and if nonpressure containing why not specify SA-106 B if you require seamless? The pi[pe need not match the pressure retaining shell material.

Ok Stanweld, thanks for your replies.
I will use this info clarify the issue with the vessel and internals fabricators.

Cheers
