Creating simple hopper in SWX sheetmetal

Creating simple hopper in SWX sheetmetal

Creating simple hopper in SWX sheetmetal

(OP)
Hi tere,
To my dismay I coudn't create a simple hopper having rectangular opeing at top and circular at bottom which also have edge flange at four sides on top rectangular opening.
I just wanted to create it and get flatten view, but SWX said there are limitations, you can't use base flange after loft command, even reverse is not possible.
Any try?

You'll find that there are things in real life that SolidWorks can't do, and things that Solidworks can do that can't be done in real life. It is the nature of the beast.

RE: Creating simple hopper in SWX sheetmetal

Every software package has its limitations.....I suggest you work within those "said" limitations or you can always do it in another MCAD package....lets say Inventor or Pro/E but I think you will find those packages also have limitations.

Have you had any formal SWx training?  How long have you used SWx or any other MCAD package (Pro/E, Inventor, & NX).

If you want help with this problem can you post a picture or the actual model.

You could try modeling the part as a solid, then turn it into sheet metal with the insert bends command.
