Block Attribute Moves

Block Attribute Moves

Block Attribute Moves

(OP)
Using AutoCAD 2008

We have two PCs and a single drawing on the network.

The drawing contains a block with an attribute that shows as text.

The text shows aligned in the middle of the block on one PC and at the bottom of the block in the other PC.

Does anyone have any experience of why this might happen?

RE: Block Attribute Moves

Hi,

maybe you need the Service Pack?

The software is loaded from an external source off-site and when i try and run Service Pack 1 I get the message that the program cannot be found.

The other issue is that the software loaded onto the PCs comes from the same source and was installed within a week or two.

RE: Block Attribute Moves

It may have to do with one computer not having the specified font/shape file for the attribute text style, so another was substituted.  I wouldn't expect that to cause the large shift you are seeing though.

I've looked into the service pack issue and the two PCs do have different service packs (go figure...)

The one where it works has service pack 1 and the one where it doesn't, doesn't.

I tried to install service pack 1 for ACAD 2008 but I get tyhe following error even though I am running it from the same folder as acad.exe

'The service pack could not be installed because the expected Autodesk product could not be located on your computer. Make sure that you are using the correct service pack for the product.'

I don't understand this.

Any ideas?

Well, I went and got the service pack for mechanical desktop instead of straight autocad (silly me) and it worked so a star for you exxit

Thanks
