How is common recommend velocity for nitrogen gas - in the pipeline?

for natural gas should be around 30m/sec

katarina

RE: recommend velocity nigtrogen in pipeline

For long pipeline work, you should be generally shooting for a velocity that gives a pressure drop of around 0.5 psi to 1 psi/mile.  30 m/s is very fast.  I would try to limit velocities to 10 m/s unless in very short segments of a compressor station, or other facility where you might consider velocities as high as 20 m/s.

Whoops.  NOT per MILE!  per 100 FEET!
