customising parts lists

customising parts lists

customising parts lists

(OP)
maybe i'm doing something wrong, but i've played with .pax files before when i did some drwg templates, and it worked fine...
I'm editing a copy of the parts list templates, to create my own pallet file (NX5), i go into the files and change the text to what i want and add rows where required, save then load the pallette, when i pick it the preview shows my changes, but when its dropped on the drwg it comes out the same as it was before i changed it.
Also if i change their name (and the text in the .pax) it won't find the file.
Its like its reading the one from UGII instead of my pallette, even though it shows the pallette thats got my name on it.
Any help much appreciated.....

RE: customising parts lists

If you have created your own patterns and placed them in different directories. Look into changing the environment variable.

UGII_PATDIR=C:\UG\Patterns

it should be in the ugii_env.dat file which lives in Ug installation root directory.

Best Regards

Hudson

RE: customising parts lists

I think for the Parts List, the variable is UGII_TABLE_TEMPLATES

OK, i'm getting along quite well now, but i'm trying to add some drawing notes in with the tables.pax , so i can drop in a few std notes.
I've saved the note on a drwg with the sheet size only that size.
I think the line that is stopping me add them is the one...Object Data class    Any idea's ??
