seal material for argon flow

(OP)
If I am flowing Argon inside my solenoid valve, would I be needing Viton seals? Would Buna N work?
Thanks!

RE: seal material for argon flow

Buna N should work fine.  SBR ("Buna") rubber maybe a little more leak-tight.  The only reason to use Viton is if you think your Argon is corrosive, which is unlikely since it's one of the noble gases, and hence very very un-reactive chemically.

RE: seal material for argon flow

You should consider the pressures!  I assume they are low because if you are operating at high pressures you may experience explosive decompression.

trust this helps.
