900 mm diameter piles

900 mm diameter piles

900 mm diameter piles

(OP)
We are designing foundations in Canada and the Geotech mentioned that 900 mm diameter steel pipe piles were being used on a nearby site.  He could not give us the material spec that covered this size pipe pile.  Does anyone know the specification that would cover piles this large?

RE: 900 mm diameter piles

There are a number of different specs for pipe piles this size. They are likely 205 or 240MPa steel if that is what you are looking for. Availability on these varies, so your best bet is to phone up a few local pipe and pile suppliers to see what they keep in stock. No point in calling for a material spec that is not available.

RE: 900 mm diameter piles

If they come from the US then they would be A53 Grade B which is 35ksi (I will let you do the conversion) wall thicknesses usually up to 1".
