(OP)

I am working on  a project which is in malayasia. They want us to design modules as per UBC 97 for both seismic and wind. I was reading ubc 97 for wind and found there are two method for wind design ie normal force method and projected area method. I will appreciate if somebody can guide me the diference and which one is use when and how is it different from analytical method of ASCE 7-05

 Thanks for help

RE: Projected area method Vs normal force method

Design loads will be higher if used UBC 1997 to calculate wind loads.
