ASTM123 vs ASTM 153

ASTM123 vs ASTM 153

ASTM123 vs ASTM 153

(OP)
What is the difference between these two galvanizing specs, the only thing I've found so far is that 153 is used for smaller pieces of material such as fasteners etc.., but what is the actuall difference in the specs??

RE: ASTM123 vs ASTM 153

ASTM A 153 is for small parts (fasteners, etc.) that can be centrifuged, while ASTM A 123 is for larger parts that cannot.  This means that the thickness and thickness tolerance are larger for ASTM A 123 than A 153.  The chemical comppsition of the zinc material (ASTM B 6) is identical.
