Default color of layer

Default color of layer

Default color of layer

I created a new layer and set its color to red. It is the current layer. Elements created on this layer are drawn first black. I have to select them and set their color to "default" to become red. What should I do to avoid this and draw using the default layer?

RE: Default color of layer

I don't see this problem. It works for me. What version are you using?

RE: Default color of layer

If you have your install of SW set so that the Line Color default option is with the Default selected, then the colors behave as you are expecting them to. The Color Display Mode can be used to toggle between Layer/Line colour and system colour.

cheers

I am using SW07 SP5.0. Seconds after posting my question I clicked on color icon, without any element selected, picked default and that solved my problem. I should have thought at that before.

RE: Default color of layer

Creating a layer is not the same as selecting the layer to be current.. go into the layer manager and dbl click on it to make it the active layer. you will see a yellow arrow pointing to the current layerl
