Assembly cut to be shown in the part

Assembly cut to be shown in the part

Assembly cut to be shown in the part

(OP)
Hi!

I'm new in SolidWorks, but have some experience in Pro/E. So all my newly gathered knowledge about SW is compared with Pro/E.

Problem:
Sometimes you don't know where should be the edge of one of parts from the assembly, and you make the part bigger. Then in the assemble you make a cut, with other part(s) as reference(s) (assembly cut).
In Pro/E this kind of change remains (is shown) in the part itself (can be seen/shown in the part model), and later in the drawing.
In SolidWorks such intervention is not shown in the part it self. I have checked all Tutorials and Helps, and didn't find a solution. Such intervention to the part is not shown/visible in the very part.

What to do, please?

Perhaps this question is of "little-John" type. But I got to the wall...

RE: Assembly cut to be shown in the part

Finally, a question I can answer!
TihomirJ,
I believe your issue is that you are making the modifications at "the assembly level".
Solidworks is interpreting this as something you want to do after you have assembled it.
To modify a part in an assembly and have it show at the part level you must use the "edit component" command which is in the assembly tools list.

Thanx kd1959!

It makes a big sence now.
