Horizontal Dimension Text Position

Horizontal Dimension Text Position

Horizontal Dimension Text Position

(OP)
Using AutoCAD 2008

I have a dimension where the text is horizontal, I want the text to show top-left but I can only set it to bottom-left or top-right, is there a setting I can apply to allow me to position the text as I want?

RE: Horizontal Dimension Text Position

Hi

The easiest way would be just to explode the dimension then move the text. You can position the text in multiline text editor also.

Exploding the dimension makes it difficult to edit aftwerwards

RE: Horizontal Dimension Text Position

In the properties of the dimension (right click the dimension, go for "Properties"), under "Fit" change "Text Movement" to "Move Text, No Leader", then you can move the text anywhere.

But then the text isn't attached to the dimension

RE: Horizontal Dimension Text Position

Yes, but it is still associative.  You can also choose "Move Text, With Leader"
