anti-condensation coating

(OP)
Does anyone have any experience with aquaban anti-condensation coating? I have problem with sweating at air outlet which is in close proximity to a door. Any input would be appreciated.

RE: anti-condensation coating

If your sweating is minor, that might possibly work, but if the conditions are chronic, I can't see how a 1/32" coating wouldn't get overwhelmed eventually.

Essentially, the material is basically a paper towel, if you think about it.  At some level of moisture, it will get swamped and it will start dripping again.

RE: anti-condensation coating

Best anti-condensation coating I have heard of is insulation and a vapor barrier.

My thoughts exactly Ken. Enjoy the star.

RE: anti-condensation coating

If you're talking about condensation on a metal diffuser, one possible remedy is replacing the metal diffuser with a plastic one.  I've used these in spot cooling applications, and they typically won't sweat unless your supply air is 15-20F below the local dewpoint.  This would solve the problem under most conditions.
